FAQ
Laser Hair Removal
How permanent is LHR?
Yes and No. Laser Hair Removal works by heating the hair follicles to stop new hairs from growing in. While it achieves this permanently it is impossible to treat all the hair follicles at once. This is why multiple sessions are necessary and spaced out according to your natural hair cycles.
Does LHR hurt?
In most cases, laser hair removal causes minimal pain, especially when you compare it to other treatments like waxing. Many patients state that it feels like being snapped like a rubber band. It all depends on your personal pain tolerance. Treatments are usually very quick so any discomfort is short in duration.
You are using a Laser is this cancerous?
It’s a myth that laser hair removal can cause cancer. In fact, according to the Skin Care Foundation, the procedure is sometimes used to treat some forms of precancerous lesions.
How many treatments are needed?
We recommend a minimum of 6 sessions every 6-8 weeks to have about an 80% reduction. However, hair growth is hormonal so results can vary from one individual to another and certain areas could require additional sessions. Also, certain conditions you may have like PCOS, Thyroid, hormonal imbalances, can make it near impossible to be 100% effective. Reduction is the keyword.
Microneedling
What does Microneedling do for your skin?
Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure. It involves pricking the skin with tiny sterilized needles. The small wounds cause your body to make more collagen and elastin, which heal your skin and help you look younger. You might also hear it called collagen induction therapy.
What is Microneedling good to treat for?
Microneedling is generally a safe and effective procedure that can improve the appearance of the skin. It may reduce wrinkles, diminish scarring, and tighten or rejuvenate loose or aging skin.
So if you are looking for help with:
Acne Scarring
C-sections scars
Textured Stretch marks
Wrinkles and fine lines
Pigmentation and Pore Size
Collagen regeneration
When will I see the results?
The treatment triggers your body’s wound healing processes to heal your micro-wounds immediately. However, the most dramatic results will not be visible until 4-6 weeks after treatment. It takes roughly this long for your body to create new, strong, healthy collagen. Ideally, you should do a treatment package of 3-6 depending on your needs. A follow-up session is recommended at your one-year mark.
What will my skin look like after a microneedling session?
It’s normal for there to be some pinpoint bleeding on the skin from having the needles into the skin. For acne-prone clients, microneedling can actually spread bacteria in the skin, making breakouts worse. We will not perform a treatment with active acne to prevent this. Many clients are suggested to start a peel regimen prior to their microneedling to address this.
HIFU
What is HIFU and how long does it last?
The results from HIFU generally last 2 years. The treatment produces new collagen, but even with natural collagen regeneration, the skin continues to age. Using good skincare products that encourage skin tightening and collagen production will help maintain your results.
Is it painful?
In general, HIFU doesn’t cause pain. However, because it utilizes ultrasound energy to trigger skin tightening, patients feel a heating sensation and tingling below the dermis. Many clients express feeling some discomfort but feel the results outweigh any pain sensation.
Is it better than Fractional or Fraxel?
While HIFU focuses on the dermis, the laser energy produced during a Fraxel type treatment focuses on the external layer of skin. For that reason, it is often a good pick if your goal is to reduce the appearance of scarring on your skin. If you are looking for toning, lifting then HIFU is your best option.
How effective is it?
In a clinical study, 65 percent of patients reported some improvement 60-180 days after treatment. 67 percent of patients were very satisfied with the results 90 days after the treatment.
Hydrafacial VS Dermalinfusion
What is a Hydrafacial treatment?
A HydraFacial is one of the most powerful, non-invasive skin resurfacing treatments available today. It combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration, and antioxidant protection that removes dead skin cells and impurities, while simultaneously delivering moisturizing serums into the skin.
What is a DiamondGlow?
The Diamondglow (Dermalinfusion) is a top-quality exfoliating treatment designed to give your skin a noticeable boost in hydration and natural glow. Treatment is extremely gentle, making it ideal for even the most sensitive skin types.
The HydraFacial functions more as a one size fits all treatment and is best suited for those in need of a gentle, moisturizing facial. For those searching for a hydrating treatment that can be customized to treat more specific skin conditions or needs, the Diamondglow (Dermalinfusion) may be the better option.
